Our History.  KALA Health, Inc. is a privately-held Massachusetts corporation, founded in 1997 as a manufacturer and distributor of natural health products. The executive management consists of Dr. Ronald Breteler, President, who has worked in the natural food industry since 1980; and James St.Clair, DVM, a specialist in the treatment of geriatric companion animals. Arthrix for Dogs and Cats was the first in a line of veterinary supplement products, and wasdeveloped twelve years ago. Arthrix quickly became known as a  high quality joint supplement, setting a market standard against which many more recent joint supplements have been compared. Arthrix still ranks number one among worldwide pet supplement sales in Singapore and East Europe, and is considered one of the original and leading natural joint health products for aging dogs in the US.

KALA Health's leading production manager, Keith Hensley, is one of the country's best pet products formulators. In the past decade, KALA Health has developed a wide range of unique pet health products to meet the growing demands of pet owners looking for alternative solutions to common pet problems.

In 2004, KALA Health acquisitioned Landco Corporation, a manufacturer and distributor of several leading brands in the pet industry since 1975, thus greatly expanding the KALA Health line of products. Currently the well-known Comfort, GoldVet product lines, as well as the Arthrix, Dermatrix, Vitalmix, Fortrix, Geriatrix, Digestix, Slimtrix and Calmix brand names are used by, and sold through thousands of veterinarians, pet clinics, pet stores and animal product mail-order companies worldwide.

During the past ten years, our reputation as a quality manufacturer of dietary supplements for pets has lead to the request by several leading pet product distributors in the US and abroad to produce their private labels.  This program significantly expanded our distribution network, while at the same time allowing other companies in the pet industry to produce safe and healthy products with the KALA Health quality and standards. We are devoted to continually look for novel and beneficial ingredients, formulations and products to foster and promote maximum pet health.

With our dedication to quality, selective use of only the highest quality ingredients and proven track record of beneficial product, KALA Health will continue to grow. Our Organization.  KALA Health, Inc. is managed by Ronald Breteler, Ph.D., while product development is under the leadership of co-owner James St.Clair, DVM, an internationally recognized veterinarian who specializes in the treatment of arthritis in dogs and cats. Each member of the KALA Health Support Team has built a reputation of excellence. Product manufacturing takes place in accordance with the cGMP regulations mandated by the Food and Drug Administration.

In addition to online sales through www.kalahealth.com , www.arthrix.com , www.petstore-online.com, and www.msmpure.com and the Idaho wholesale branch (formerly Landco Corporation), European product and ingredient sales take place through KALA Health International BV. , located in The Hague, The Netherlands.  The European online sales venue is www.kalahealthinternational.com. Other international distribution centers are located in Singapore, Latvia (distributing in Eastern European countries), Australia (www.kalahealthaustralia.com), Trinidad and Japan (www.kalahealthjapan.com).
